Dems Pledge Stem Cell Bill Headed Back to the Hopper

Despite a recent veto by President Bush, democrats are looking to push the Stem Cell Bill next January when they take over the 110th Congress. The bill seeks to increase federal funding for embryonic stem cell research, which aims to treat and cure a wide variety of human diseases, including diabetes, spinal chord injuries, and Alzheimer’s. Despite increasing support from Americans, Bush and others vehemently oppose the research, which involves testing on human embryos, and equate the process with abortion.
